Actually, it wasn't President Truman that is connected with the line, "Speak softly, but carry a big stick." President Theodore Roosevelt is most closely linked to it although there is some question as to its true origin. But it is notable to look at its meaning as Roosevelt invoked it. He followed that with, "if a man continually blusters, if he lacks civility, a big stick will not save him from trouble, and neither will speaking softly avail, if back of the softness there does not lie strength, power." I ask, since your comments show no signs of 'speaking softly' and rarely include any civility, what does your bristling commentary accomplish? More on point, from what actions or direct evidence do you claim Barrack Obama is (or would) 'hide under the blanket' as you eloquently maintain? Also, has the 'strength and power' that Roosevelt mentioned been shown from John McCain's campaign? And note, this is a campaign that speaks not of issues or solutions, but relegates itself to the campaign attack machine it once derided. I hope you'll give my words and questions the time and the consideration I gave yours, and not the brevity you took in writing your own.

I survived Vietnam also, and wasn't a prisoner. I had to fight everyday of my tour. I didn't cost the govt millions in airplane because I was at the bottom of my class and couldn't fly. People have been to kind to this traitor. When you get capture you should give name, rank and serial number. Not teaching the enemy english and discussing everything that happens in American. He no hero he is a zero. And I match my military record to his anyday. He is a liar just like joe the plumber really isn't a plumber another lie by the McCain camp.

Point being I may not live tomorrow.
